What is the best device for studying at JustSchool?
Taking our classes from Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and Safari browsers on a computer or laptop is the most convenient way.
Recommended technical specifications are:
random-access memory of at least 4 GB;
operating system — Windows 8/8.1/10+ or macOS 10.15+.
You will also need a microphone or headset. A working webcam is recommended.
You can use a phone or tablet to study as well. We recommend using our mobile application for more convenience instead of a browser when studying on your phone. We are the only online school in Ukraine that provides lessons through a mobile application. It is available for download on Google Play or the App Store.
Also, before the lesson starts, it is advisable to check how stable your internet connection is. The recommended internet speed is 15 Mb/s and more. Therefore, mobile internet may not be suitable for video chatting with teachers if your region has poor mobile coverage.
What should I do if my camera and microphone are not working?
Check if you have enabled permission to use the camera and microphone in the browser on your computer. Here is how to manage access to the camera and microphone in Google Chrome.
Also, close tabs in your browser and programs that may use your camera and microphone, such as Skype, Viber, etc.
Lastly, try restarting your browser and computer.
What to do if the internet speed is poor?
Take the speed test of your internet by following this link.
If the speed test shows that the internet speed is lower than 15-30 Mb/s, and your internet plan allows higher internet speed, check if any files are downloading from the internet on your computer. For example, your son's computer game or your husband's or wife's favourite movie. If so, pause or stop the downloads to free up bandwidth.
If the computer does not download anything, try restarting the WiFi router.
If you have wired internet, try unplugging the ethernet cable and plugging it back in.
If these steps do not improve the internet speed, you should contact your internet provider to see if they can increase it.
